18CT WHITE GOLD OVAL BRILLIANT CUT BLUE TOPAZ & DIAMOND RING

This Blue Topaz ring features a 1.51-carat centre stone that is complemented by brilliant white, sparkly Diamond stones. This design is unusual in that the Diamonds are incorporated into the central stone setting, and are visible from the side, effectively cradling the Topaz. The East-West setting of the stone is striking and lends a modern edge. 

The whole is set in cool 18ct White Gold, a fabulous and uncommon colour combination. This ring sits high on the finger, approx. 6mm proud.

Prior to the 1950s, golden yellow to peachy orange hues accounted for virtually all Topaz which had been discovered thus far. Today this known as Precious Topaz. The confusion between Citrine, Smoky quartz and Topaz was heightened by the  Brazilian word “Topazio”, which means yellow gem. Blue was once amongst the rarest colour to be seen in Topaz. Today, through colour treatments being refined, there are three stunning Blue Topaz colours: Sky Blue, Swiss Blue and London Blue. This ring is a Swiss Blue Topaz. This name is given to Blue Topaz which is lighter than London Blue Topaz but darker than Sky Blue Topaz.

White Gold is an alloy of Gold and at least one white metal (usually nickel, Silver, or Palladium). White gold is usually enhanced with Rhodium plating. To preserve this plating, avoid swimming in your jewellery as chlorine, in particular, can cause faster degradation. Chlorine is present in small amounts in tap water, so it is best to avoid getting your jewellery wet where possible.  It is a simple matter to have items re-plated.
