This is the sort of ring I mean when I say I have a weakness for classic jewellery with a little bit of old-school drama.

It's a solid 9ct Yellow Gold Diamond ring, with a beautifully squared-off vintage-style shank, a central Diamond sitting proudly in a four-claw Rhodium setting, and ten additional Diamonds channel-set into the shoulders.

So you've got sparkle coming at you from the centre and sneaking down the sides.

Because apparently one Diamond was considered insufficient.

I approve.

💎 The Main Event

At the centre sits a gorgeous sparkling Diamond, secured in a four-claw setting.

The setting is Rhodium, which gives that part of the ring a bright white finish and creates a lovely contrast against the warm Yellow Gold.

It also helps the central Diamond appear slightly larger, because jewellery occasionally employs the same visual trick as good lighting and clever tailoring.

And I'm entirely here for it.

Around the shoulders are ten accent Diamonds, channel-set into the squared-off shank.

The result is a ring that feels distinctly vintage-inspired, while still being wonderfully wearable today.

Which is why I always think it's much more interesting to look at the whole piece of jewellery, rather than obsessing over one number.

💛 Solid 9ct Yellow Gold

The ring itself is made from solid 9ct Yellow Gold and is fully hallmarked.

It weighs approximately 2.6g, giving you a lovely substantial little piece of traditional Gold jewellery without making it feel cumbersome on the finger.

And that squared-off shank?

That's one of my favourite details.

It gives the ring a slightly architectural, vintage character and stops it looking like every other round-profile Diamond ring you've ever seen.
