This is one of those necklaces that makes you understand why jewellery has occasionally been described as wearable armour.

My vintage-style solid 9ct Yellow Gold Panther link chain necklace is sleek, tactile and gloriously substantial without being the sort of enormous chain that requires its own postcode.

It's slim yet weighty, wonderfully smooth to the touch and absolutely packed with that old-school jewellery glamour I have such a soft spot for.

And yes, darlings, it's a Panther chain.

Which sounds considerably more exciting than "chain made of several rows of clever rectangular links", although technically that's what we're dealing with.

🐆 The Panther Link

The Panther chain is a particularly distinctive flat chain construction.

It consists of three or more rows of rectangular, rounded links, arranged not simply side-by-side but layered above one another. The central row is offset by approximately half a link, creating that wonderfully dense, articulated appearance.

And then we have the clasp.

Because a necklace this good deserves something better than a tiny little afterthought.

The chain fastens with a Gold Albert swivel, attached using an oversized soldered jump ring.

The Albert swivel is particularly fitting with the vintage styling and gives the necklace that lovely traditional jewellery character.

It's functional, secure and rather handsome.

Which is more than I can say for most fasteners I've encountered in life.

Because of the nature of these pieces, bespoke, made-to-order, personalised and engraved items cannot be returned.

Please also note that the stated six-to-eight-week timeframe is the relevant lead time for this particular made-to-order piece.

Yes, darlings, I dispatch as soon as my little hands can package your treasure — but remember, I’m a boutique, not Bezos. If I have your piece to hand, it will be dispatched the same day, but the vast majority comes to me first from my wondrous silver and goldsmiths on order.

International Shipping

Anywhere from 5 to 30 working days post-production, depending on customs, the mood of your postal service, and whether Mercury is in retrograde.

Again, the made-to-order production period applies before shipping.
