Alright, my glamorous friends, if you liked the idea of a chunky, sculptural silver hoop but thought, “Yes, lovely, but could we make it GOLD?” – well, frankly, this is why I’m here.

These gorgeous Gold Vermeil twisted square tube hoop earrings take the classic hoop and give it a rather fabulous upgrade. Crafted from 925 Sterling Silver and finished with Gold Vermeil, they have that delicious warm Gold appearance without requiring you to sell a kidney and move into a tent.

At 32mm in diameter, these are definitely not tiny little earrings that sit quietly in the background contemplating their existence. They have presence. The 3.5mm square tube has been twisted to create a beautiful sculptural effect, giving the earrings lots of surface interest and allowing the polished Gold finish to catch the light as you move.

These earrings are made from 925 Sterling Silver, which is then coated with Gold to create a luxurious Gold Vermeil finish.

So, importantly, these are not Gold-plated base metal earrings. There is precious Sterling Silver underneath that gorgeous Gold exterior.

Vermeil is wonderfully glamorous, but it does require a little more love than solid Gold. Because the Gold is a surface coating, the finish will naturally become thinner with wear over time, particularly on jewellery that gets knocked about.

And earrings, despite looking innocent, are surprisingly good at getting involved in things.

💛 LOOK AFTER THE GOLD

If you want to keep your Gold Vermeil hoops looking fabulous for as long as possible, I recommend removing them before showering, bathing, swimming or exercising and keeping them away from perfume, hairspray, lotions, oils, chlorine and household chemicals.

Do not wear them when washing your hands if your hands are going anywhere near the earrings – water, soap and repeated exposure will gradually affect the Gold finish.

Gold Vermeil rings tend to show wear particularly quickly because our hands spend the day being thwacked against practically everything, but earrings can also suffer from friction and knocks. A little care goes a very long way.

When you're not wearing them, pop them somewhere clean and dry, ideally in their jewellery box rather than loose in the bottom of a handbag where they will apparently be required to survive the equivalent of the Hunger Games.
