9CT WHITE GOLD FANCY ILLUSION SET DIAMOND RING
Christine Alexander Fine Jewellery
I’m not saying this ring is a show-off, but if it walked into a room, it would absolutely expect applause.
This utterly gorgeous 9ct White Gold illusion set ring has quite frankly taken my breath away — and I say that as someone who sees a lot of jewellery and is therefore hard to impress (emotionally unavailable, but for rings). The Diamond-encrusted face is a dazzling little masterpiece, designed to make you do a double-take and then a slightly suspicious squint because surely those central stones can’t be that big?
Oh, but they can. Or rather… they look like they can. That’s the delicious trick of illusion setting — clever, glamorous wizardry that uses Rhodium-toned settings to reflect light and make Diamonds appear larger, brighter, and frankly a bit smug about it.
The central trio gleams like it’s got something to prove, while the offset Diamond “sash” sweeps across the face like a glittering diagonal mic drop. And the shoulders? Wide, split, and unapologetically fabulous — giving just a hint of skin and a whole lot of “I have excellent taste, thank you for noticing.”
(Also, yes, she’s a she. All my rings are. This one especially. She’s dramatic.)

Also available in Yellow Gold if you’re feeling warmer, but honestly, this White Gold version is giving full-on vintage glamour with a modern wink.
What’s This “Illusion Setting” Sorcery?
It’s a clever technique where Diamonds are set into a metal (often Rhodium-plated) that mimics their colour, enhancing their sparkle and making them appear larger. It’s basically contouring… but for jewellery.
Care Tips (Because She’s High Maintenance, Obviously):
White Gold is typically Rhodium-plated to achieve that bright white finish. To keep it looking its best:
- Avoid water where possible (yes, even tap water — chlorine is a sneaky little menace)
- Definitely no swimming in it unless you enjoy dull jewellery
- Re-plating is simple and restores that fresh-out-the-box shine
