Now, let's journey into the history of Rubies. These precious gems have left their mark across the globe, historically mined in places like Thailand, Cambodia, Afghanistan, Australia, Brazil, Colombia, India, Namibia, Japan, and Scotland. Following World War II, Ruby deposits were uncovered in Madagascar, Nepal, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Tanzania, and Vietnam. Notably, Macedonia boasts unique raspberry-coloured Rubies, primarily found around Prilep. A handful of Rubies have even graced the U.S. states of Montana, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Wyoming. However, it's worth noting that Red Spinels, which can resemble Rubies, have sometimes caused confusion among those less experienced in gemology.
For centuries, the Mogok Valley in Upper Myanmar (Burma) reigned as the world's primary source of Rubies. In central Myanmar, the region of Mong Hsu joined the ranks of Ruby mining during the 1990s and quickly became a global hub. Rubies are also found in Afghanistan and Pakistan, although as of 2017, only one mine in Pakistani Kashmir (Chitta Katha) remained operational due to limited investment. In Sri Lanka, lighter-hued Rubies, often referred to as "Pink Sapphires," are more prevalent.
Now, to ensure these precious gems reach you securely, rest assured they'll be shipped with full insurance via Royal Mail Tracked. For the most valuable pieces, we entrust them to a courier. Our mission? Dispatch your orders within 5 working days, all while providing you with detailed tracking information.
Lastly, let's dive into the enchanting world of White Gold. It's a remarkable alloy, born from the union of pure Yellow Gold and other lustrous white metals, resulting in its pristine, silvery glow, akin to Silver. Occasionally, it receives an extra touch of brilliance from Rhodium, a metal that enhances both its durability and shine. However, keep in mind that Rhodium plating can gradually wear off, revealing the White Gold beneath. Not to worry, though; re-plating is a breeze.
Shipping: The Glamorous World of Parcel Patience
Alright, my fellow sparkle enthusiasts, let's talk dispatch and delivery. Picture this: I’m a one-woman powerhouse, working tirelessly to bring you the finest jewellery. I aim to dispatch your glittering goodies the same day (because I'm just that efficient). But here's the kicker—being a boutique operation, my stock is as limited as my patience for non-sparkly things. Most of my treasures are shipped from my legion of talented smiths and suppliers to me on order.
UK Domestic Shipping: Fast but Fashionably Late
For my lovely UK-based customers, your sparkles will typically waltz their way to you in about 5-7 business days. Quick, but not quite instant gratification. I’m not Amazon! Think of it as joyous anticipation before the big reveal!
International Shipping: The Waiting Game
For my fabulous international friends, I need you to channel your inner zen master. Shipping times can vary wildly, anywhere from 5 to 30 business days. Why? Because customs clearance is a thing. Patience, darling. Good things (and sparkly ones) come to those who wait.
Out of Stock? Not Out of Luck!
If the piece you’ve fallen in love with is out of stock, don’t fret! It’s available for order with a lead time of 4-10 weeks, depending on which of my brilliant suppliers is crafting your new favourite accessory. Just drop me a line about your heart's desire, and I’ll do my absolute best to meet your needs.
So, there you have it. Whether you’re waiting a few days or a few weeks, remember: great things (and truly fabulous jewellery) take time. Now, who’s ready to add a bit of sparkle to their life?
