Morganite is one of the most romantic gemstones in the jewellery world. A delicate pink variety of the Beryl family, its gentle blush tones have made it increasingly sought after by lovers of understated luxury.

Discovered off the coast of Madagascar in 1910, it was named after the famous financier and gemstone collector J. P. Morgan. Since then, Morganite has become synonymous with compassion, love, emotional balance and fresh beginnings. It has all the elegance of far more expensive gemstones but with a warmth that's entirely its own.

Personally, I think Morganite deserves far more attention than it gets. Diamonds are wonderful, obviously. But sometimes soft pink quietly steals the entire show.

Please remember I photograph my jewellery using a macro lens so you can admire every glorious detail. Macro photography has a habit of making jewellery appear considerably larger than it is in real life.
