Cuban link Chains are an evolution of the hip-hop jewellery movement that began in the late ’70s to mid-’80s. Nevertheless, their classic, sleek design is no way limited to high-profile, hip-hop celebrities. One thing we do know is that interest in Cuban links accelerated after 2012 and has been rising steadily ever since.

The European exploration of the Americas was fueled in no small part by reports of the Gold ornaments displayed in great profusion by Native American peoples, especially in Mesoamerica, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia. However, for the indigenous peoples of North America Gold was considered useless and they saw much greater value in other minerals which were directly related to their utility, such as obsidian, flint, and slate. Ironically, Cuban links are better known in the US as Miami Cuban links.
