PRELOVED GOLD VERMEIL 7CT AQUA/MINT SPINEL & PASTE COCKTAIL RING

Some rings politely accessorise.

This one enters the room, orders a martini, steals your husband, and somehow still gets invited back for Christmas.

Behold the crowned queen of preloved glamour: an utterly fabulous Gold Vermeil cocktail ring showcasing an astonishing almost 7ct aqua blue-green oval Spinel. Framed by a halo of glittering Paste stones and held securely within an elegant claw-set mount, this is the sort of ring that refuses to be ignored. Frankly, neither should you.

Crafted from Sterling Silver, stamped 925, and luxuriously plated in rich 18ct Yellow Gold, this beauty perfectly balances vintage elegance with unapologetic drama. It's a UK size P½, ready to become the star of someone's jewellery collection.

And then there's the Spinel.

Oh, the Spinel.

Like every interesting person you've ever met, it has layers. In natural daylight, it glows a rich blue-green, while under artificial lighting it transforms into an enchanting minty green. It's essentially mood jewellery for grown-ups—without the embarrassing colour-changing ring you bought with your pocket money in 1993.

A Little Gemstone History...

Spinel has been quietly stealing the limelight for over two thousand years.

Some of the earliest Spinels discovered in jewellery were found in Buddhist tombs near Kabul, Afghanistan, dating to around 100 BC. During the Roman occupation of Britain, blue and green Spinels journeyed across Europe, while vivid red Spinels became the true celebrities of the gemstone world throughout the Renaissance and into the eighteenth century.

Perhaps the most famous identity crisis in jewellery history belongs to the magnificent 170-carat "Black Prince's Ruby" in the British Imperial State Crown. For centuries, everyone believed it was a Ruby... until modern gemmology gently pointed out that it was actually a rather spectacular red Spinel. Imagine discovering you've been introduced by the wrong name for six hundred years.

And What Exactly Is Paste?

Despite the unfortunate name—which sounds more like something you'd spread on toast than wear to a gala—Paste has a wonderfully glamorous history.

Usually crafted from highly polished leaded glass, Paste gemstones were the sparkling stars of fashionable jewellery long before modern gemstone simulants arrived. Venice and Bohemia became famous for producing exquisite examples, while England excelled in creating faceted lead glass for elaborate buckles, buttons and jewellery. Today, vintage Paste remains wonderfully collectable, admired not for intrinsic value but for its craftsmanship, history and irresistible sparkle.

Cocktail Rings: Because Life Is Far Too Short for Tiny Jewellery

The rules? There aren't any.

Wear it on whichever finger makes you happiest. Let it reign on your right hand, stack it with other treasures, or wear it completely solo so it can enjoy every second of the attention. Mix colours, clash gemstones, ignore fashion "rules" entirely.

Jewellery should bring joy—not homework.

This ring is proudly preloved, carrying all the charm and character that only previously adored jewellery can possess. Please study the photographs carefully, as they form part of the description, and feel free to ask any questions before purchasing.

If vintage treasures are your weakness, you're in exactly the right place. My shop is positively overflowing with preloved, antique and vintage jewellery, each piece waiting patiently for its next chapter.

Your ring will arrive beautifully presented in a recycled gift box, carefully protected inside a padded envelope—because every queen deserves a suitably regal entrance.
