SILVER CUBIC ZIRCONIA SET CRESCENT MOON STUDS

Stunning new earrings made using premium Cubic Zirconia jewels. The earrings are crescent moon-shaped and have a post located in the centre back. These studs are Sterling Silver, they are nickel and lead-free.

Available in simple Rose Gold plated Sterling Silver also, and a matching necklace is available here (contact me if no link).

The crescent has been used as a heraldic charge since the 13th century. A crescent with the horns pointing left (dexter) is called "a crescent increscent" (or simply "an increscent"), and when the horns are pointing right (sinister), it is called "a crescent decrescent" (or "a decrescent"). Two crescents with horns pointing away from each other are called "addorsed". In English heraldry, the crescent is used as a difference denoting a second son.

Vermeil is the name given to Gold-plated Silver.  Depending on how the jewellery is cared for and what chemicals and elements it comes in contact with, Vermeil should retain its golden look for several years. However, over time, as with all plating, eventually the coating will begin to wear and the Silver underneath will be seen. Although you will be left with what is still a precious metal item, if you wish to preserve the plating, avoid household detergents, particularly chlorine which can be present in tap water; remove your jewellery before swimming, bathing or showering. It is a simple matter to have items re-plated.
