Jewellery is best stored individually in a soft pouch or a box with compartments away from sunlight and where harder gemstones can’t scratch softer ones.

Gold artefacts made their first appearance at the very beginning of the pre-dynastic period in Egypt, at the end of the fifth millennium BC and the start of the fourth; smelting was developed during the course of the 4th millennium, according to C.H.V. Sutherland’s book, Gold. As of 1990, gold artefacts found at the Nahal Qana cave cemetery of the 4th millennium BC were the earliest from the Levant.

Stylized depictions of hearts in jewellery are extremely prevalent symbols representing love.
