Looking After Your Platinum
Platinum is exceptionally durable, but — and this is important — durable does not mean indestructible. Like all precious metals, it can scratch with wear. The difference is that Platinum tends to displace rather than lose metal when scratched, meaning the metal remains part of the piece rather than simply disappearing into the atmosphere every time you knock it against something.
I still recommend removing your chain before swimming, bathing, exercising, sleeping or doing anything involving aggressive household cleaning. Perfume, hairspray, creams and household chemicals are also best kept away from your jewellery where possible.
