SILVER AMBER CABOCHON TRIQUETRA CELTIC STUDS
These delightful cognac Amber studs are perfect for everyday wear because they are so light and comfortable. The Sterling Silver triangular earrings are based on a Celtic trefoil design with a round piece of Baltic Amber in the centre as a focal point.
The studs have sterling silver stopper backs, for pierced ears only. Approx. 10mm across.
The Triquetra design is used as a religious symbol adapted from ancient Pagan Celtic images by Christianity, as is common in Christianity. It is similar to Odin's symbol, the valknut.
The Vienna Amber factories, which use pale Amber to manufacture pipes and other smoking tools, turn it on a lathe and polish it with whitening and water or with rottenstone and oil. When gradually heated in an oil bath, Amber becomes soft and flexible. Cloudy amber may be clarified in an oil bath, as the oil fills the numerous pores to which the turbidity is due. Amber has often been imitated by other resins like copal and kauri gum, as well as by celluloid and even glass.
