These are Sterling Silver earrings with the famous Irish Claddagh design. In the design, you can see two hands (friendship) holding a heart (love) and there's a crown on top of the heart (loyalty). This 17th-century design comes from a little town called Claddagh in Ireland, located just outside the old city walls of Galway, now part of Galway City. The symbol in jewellery, as currently known, was first produced in the 17th century. You can also see the Celtic Trinity knot in the design. These earrings represent friendship, love and loyalty towards yourself or someone else.
Handmade in the Northern Irish workshop I buy much of my Silver from.
The Claddagh measures 10mm in diameter and hangs from a Sterling Silver fish hook finding.
A matching, slightly larger pendant is available.
