VINTAGE (1968-69) 9CT GOLD BLUE & WHITE PASTE RING
Christine Alexander Fine Jewellery
A blue and white Paste ring, with a central oval blue Paste stone, surrounded by white Paste stones, mounted in 9ct Yellow and White Gold, fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1968-69. This little 9ct Gold ring is gorgeous! The ring is so detailed and it is just a beauty to look at. The central Paste stone is in good condition. Overall, the stone is still very clear and has a lovely deep blue colour. The stone measures approximately 6mm across and 9mm in length. The face of the ring measures 11mm x 13mm and it sits almost 6.5mm off the finger. This is a very regal ring that demands attention. It would be fantastic as an alternative engagement ring. The ring overall is in good to excellent condition. Total weight 2.83g. UK size I.
This is one of my own pieces, it was sold to Jay's Jeweller's of Brighton in the late 90s and as a junior staff member, I coveted her hard and was slowly saving for her. After I made an excellent sale, my boss gave me this ring. I have enjoyed frequent compliments on my lovely Sapphire! But I no longer wear her often so it's time she went to a new loving home.

“Paste” or "Strass" is a special kind of flint glass invented in 1724. It was cut & polished by hand with painstaking skill until it appeared to shimmer like Diamonds in the light, and was an instant hit with the high society! It really is a charming and beautiful material, and as such continues to be highly coveted to this day.
