VINTAGE RAINBOW TITANIUM SMALL TORQ BANGLE
Elegant, lightweight, hypoallergenic and durable. This Titanium rainbow fine torq bangle is a retro piece from the 1990s. Internally measuring 56x43mm across with an adjustable opening, this bangle only just fits me. I have slim wrists, so this would be a perfect gift for somebody similarly slim of wrist, teenagers, or older children. The metal has been anodised so has a pretty pastel rainbow effect, and is matt in appearance.
Titanium is a chemical element with the symbol Ti and atomic number 22. It is a lustrous transition metal with a silver colour, low density, and high strength. Titanium was discovered in Cornwall, Great Britain, by William Gregor in 1791 and was named by Martin Heinrich Klaproth after the Titans of Greek mythology. The two most useful properties of the metal are corrosion resistance and strength-to-density ratio, the highest of any metallic element. Because of its durability, titanium has become more popular for designer jewellery (particularly, titanium rings). Titanium is also alloyed with gold to produce an alloy that can be marketed as 24-karat gold because the 1% of alloyed Ti is insufficient to require a lesser mark. Titanium's durability, lightweight, and dent and corrosion resistance make it useful for watch cases. Titanium may be anodised to vary the thickness of the surface oxide layer, causing a variety of bright colours. Its inertness makes it a good choice for those with allergies or those who will be wearing the jewellery in environments such as swimming pools.
