A Little Silver History

Silver has accumulated quite the mythology over the centuries.

In folklore, Silver was believed to possess mystical powers and has famously been associated with protection against werewolves, witches and other creatures who presumably had a very poor relationship with precious metals.

It also has some rather less wholesome historical associations. The phrase "thirty pieces of Silver" comes from the New Testament account of Judas Iscariot being paid to betray Jesus.

So Silver has somehow managed to represent purity, protection, wealth, betrayal and werewolf-related weaponry.

Jewellery Care – Because Silver Likes a Little Attention

Sterling Silver naturally develops tarnish over time when exposed to air, moisture and certain chemicals. This is completely normal and doesn't mean anything is wrong with your jewellery.

To keep your 925 Sterling Silver chain looking its best, I recommend removing it before swimming, bathing, showering, exercising and sleeping where practical.

Keep it away from perfume, hairspray, creams, chlorine and household cleaning products, and store it somewhere dry when you're not wearing it.

A good quality Silver polishing cloth will bring back the shine beautifully if it starts to dull.

And if you're using it as a glasses or sunglasses chain, do remember that it is a delicate 1mm chain. Treat it accordingly. It is stylish, not indestructible.
