Here's a little secret to keeping it looking beautiful for years to come.

Gold Vermeil is created by coating Sterling Silver with a generous layer of Gold. It offers all the luxury of Gold with a wonderfully accessible price, but because it isn't solid Gold, it appreciates a little extra kindness.

• Apply perfume, hairspray and body sprays before putting on your jewellery.

• Allow hand creams and lotions to absorb fully before wearing your necklace.

• Remove your Vermeil jewellery before showering, swimming, exercising or sleeping. Water, chlorine, perspiration and cosmetics can gradually wear the Gold plating over time.

• After wearing, gently wipe your necklace with a soft cotton cloth to remove natural oils and dust.

• Avoid jewellery polishing cloths, as these are designed for solid precious metals and may remove the Gold plating.

• Store your necklace separately in a soft pouch or jewellery box to help prevent scratches.
