There are chains, and then there are chains. And this, darlings, falls squarely in the latter category.
I have a particular weakness for a really good curb chain because it manages to be simultaneously classic, substantial and thoroughly unfussy. No unnecessary bells and whistles. Just beautiful precious metal links doing exactly what they were put on this Earth to do.
And when those links are made from Platinum? Well. We're getting serious.

💎 The Platinum Curb Chain
This is a filed curb chain, which means the individual curb links have been carefully flattened and filed so their outer edges sit neatly against one another.
Why does that matter?
Because instead of having links that sit rather haphazardly and twist about like they've had three glasses of Prosecco, a filed curb chain has a smoother, flatter and more uniform appearance.
The advantages are rather lovely:
- It lies flatter against the skin
- The filed surfaces catch and reflect the light beautifully
- It has a wonderfully smooth, almost liquid appearance
- The links are less inclined to twist awkwardly
- It feels substantial and luxurious without needing to be enormous
- The neat, close-fitting links give it a beautifully polished finish
Essentially, it's a curb chain that's had a tiny bit of jewellery engineering and come out looking fabulous.
⚪ Platinum – Properly Precious Stuff
The chain is made from Platinum 950, meaning it is a high-purity Platinum alloy containing 95% Platinum.
And Platinum is not merely Gold's slightly mysterious, rather sophisticated cousin who lives in a very nice house.
It is dense, rare and wonderfully weighty.
Platinum is around a third heavier than 18ct Gold, which is one reason a Platinum chain can have such a satisfyingly substantial feel in the hand.
Historically, its rarity was so extraordinary that when Platinum came to the attention of King Louis XV of France in the 18th century, he famously declared it the only metal fit for a king.
And there is a rather marvellous way of illustrating just how scarce Platinum is: it has been suggested that if all the world's Platinum were gathered together and poured into an Olympic swimming pool, it wouldn't even cover your ankles.
Now that is the sort of statistic I like to have available when someone asks why Platinum costs rather more than the contents of the average jewellery counter.
It's also why this chain is not available for next-day delivery - I don't keep it on the premises for insurance reasons. It's THAT prestigious.

If not, it's available for order with a lead time of 2–10 weeks, depending on which of my brilliant suppliers is crafting your new favourite accessory. A non-refundable deposit is required to get things moving - I gotta protect me as a micro business! Custom lengths are also available.
